11th Conference of the Central Europe Subregion ISGF
The 11th Conference of the Central Europe Sub-region of the ISGF took place from October 3 to 6, 2024, in Nitra, Slovakia, under the theme "Diversity in Language, Unity in Message". Successfully organized by the Slovakian Fellowship the Dospelí Skauti a Skauty Slovenskéh (DSaSS) and Stanislav Vyhlídal brought together 41 participants in a collaborative and productive environment.
ISGF members from Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Liechtenstein, Poland, United Kingdom and Slovakia participated in the conference.
Sue Page, a member of the World Committee and former ISGF Europe President, inspired the delegates and encouraged them to continue their work. The General Assembly also renewed the board and reviewed the statutes.
Teresa Tarkowska-Dudek (Poland) as Chair, Zuzana Holekova (Slovakia) as Vice Chair, Bernhard Müller (Austria) as Treasurer, and Liliana Sotelo (Austria) as Representative to the European Committee make up the new SRCE Board for 2024 - 2028.
In the conference's framework, a proposal from Liechtenstein to hold the next SRCE Conference in 2028, following the World Conference, was approved. Additionally, the conference awarded Kutná Hora, Czech Republic, the following location, thanks to the enthusiastic presentation by the Czech Guild.
The event's engaging cultural program, a key component that promoted and celebrated local heritage, allowed participants to explore the Topoľčianky Castle, the renowned national stud farm, and the historic city of Nitra. These tours offered both delegates and non-delegates an immersion into the culture of this beautiful country.
