Report meeting Ambassadors, World Conference 2024

Seven years after the 28th ISGF World Conference in Bali, we were very happy to meet again in person in Granada Spain at the most important ISGF event, which is the World Conference. More than 40 IAG members attended this Conference which gave us the opportunity to have a good chat with many of them.
The keyword of this Conference was “COMMITMENT” and we feel that this word represents the substance of IAG.
We wish to thank the Spanish Organising Committee for providing a suitable room where we had a friendly meeting with about 60 participants , IAG members and friends from many different countries.

Present from the IAG Board were the Chairman Nana Gentimi, the Secretary Jane Wardropper , the Treasurer Anthony Florizoone and the members Mida Rodrigues and Martine Levy, who I thank for their overall help and support . The Vice Chair Bjorg Walstad was excused and sent us greetings with a beautiful card and a Norwegian treat. Also present was Elin Richards the Chairman of ISGF World Committee (IAG ex officio member). Here we should mention that at this Conference Elin’s term as ISGF World Committee Chairman ended and we are very happy that she was registered as a new IAG life member and thank her for her contribution.
At the meeting we did a brief review of the last few years, difficult for IAG due to pandemic, because meetings and face to face communication is very important for the increase of the membership.
We welcomed the new members, handed out the pin, badge and membership certificate to the annual fee members while the life members received their diplomas.
We referred to the projects supported the last few years in Ivory Coast, Kenya, Denmark, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium and Iceland. A few months ago a very important project of MASCI , Italy, was supported to help Ukrainian Scouts to travel to Sardinia to participate in a Scout Camp. We were delighted to hear details of some of these projects from the members involved.
We were very sad to refer to the loss of our dear friend and IAG member from Liechtenstein Hedy Sprecher . God rest her soul.

During the plenary session a video was shown with information about IAG (who we are and what we do) and many of the projects supported, over the past few years.
The date of our next IAG General Assembly in Brussels in 2025 is not fixed yet. For practical reasons we always try to held it the weekend just after the annual World Committee meeting in Brussels, which is not announced yet. You will be advised in due course. Stay tuned. Also we urge you to participate in the upcoming ISGF events so we can meet again.
I take this opportunity to thank Elin Richards for her commitment during her ex-officio membership and welcome Ana Rodrigues, the new ISGF Chairman, as the new ex-officio IAG Board member, wishing her good luck with her new tasks.
