Report 7th Southern Europe Sub Region Meeting - 18th Mediterranean Gathering
The 7th Southern Europe Sub Region (SESR) Meeting and the 18th Mediterranean Meeting (MED Gathering), took place at the Caribbean World Djerba Hotel, in Djerba, Tunisia, from 1 to 6 November 2025 with a total of 118 participants.
On Saturday November 1st, the SESR Committee, with members from Italy, Portugal, Spain and Greece, chaired by Thalia Xiromeritou, representative and Chair of the Europe Committee, from Greece, had a very fruitful meeting with elections, update of the Constitution and a workshop on relations of NSGFs with youth organisations .
The next days the Mediterranean Gathering took place, organized by the Tunisian NSGF "The Tunisian Association of Pioneers" guided by Essia Fathallah, who is the Vice Chair of the ISGF World Committee. In addition to the SESR members and the Tunisian participants, representatives and interested individuals from other Gulf countries—Oman, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait—also took part in the gathering.
The theme of the MED Gathering was Tolerance and intercultural dialogue. On this issue, a debate took place with representatives of the Muslim and Christian religions, on how this issue is addressed and implemented by each religion. Present and officially invited was Mr Faiçal Elanzi, Minister of Kuwait, the country which will host the 31st ISGF World Conference in 2027.
Mediterranean Gathering program included many excursions and visits to Djerba and Southern Tunisia, such as a boat trip with «Odysseus», visits to the city of Tataouine, the mountain village 
of the Bedouins Chenini and a social action "Pioneers in Action", namely the painting of the sea platform of the SIRI YATI" mosque of the 10th century, a beautiful building located next to the sea. Last visit was to the Ghazi Mustapha fortress and the HOUMT SOUK market.
I wish to thank Essia Fathallah for giving me time, equipment and a suitable place for my presentation. It was attended by both SESR and Arab members. The Power Point presentation was about the International Ambassadors Guild and the projects recently supported with photographs of some of the projects from 2024 and 2025. The presentation was in French because the majority of the members were francophone and Sara Milreu from Portugal, helped with the translation in English. We had a new life member, a lady from Spain. Maita Garcia Arrizabalaga our General Assembly member from Spain was also there. After the presentation we had a discussion and many members from the Arab Region were informed for the first time of IAG’s activities and projects.
Our next IAG meeting will take place in Cyprus at the ISGF Europe Conference, 20 - 24 March 2026.
