Report 2nd Central America and Caribbean Sub Region Gathering

This Central America and Caribbean Gathering took place in Guatemala, from August 28-31, 2025, with the theme “Ancient in time, young at heart”. There were 72 participants from 9 countries. Argentina, CB-USA, Chile, Curaçao, Guatemala, Mexico, Netherlands, Trinidad & Tobago and Venezuela.

Beside the business part, in which various projects were presented, participants could enjoy a traditional Guatemala folkloric dance presentation, a city tour and a tour to Antigua, the former capital of Guatemala, UNESCO World Heritage Site.

An indoor symbolic campfire (lampata) fostered unity and camaraderie among the participants. Delegates voted for the approval of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). NSGF ANASMAC Mexico expressed their desire to host the 3rd Gathering to be held in 2028 in Mexico.

A special moment took place when Maria del Carmen Arredondo M. from Mexico renewed her Scout Promise.

Leny Doelman (Central Branch Coordinator) was appointed Honorary member of ATZ Fraternidad de Scouts y Guias Guatemala and they placed her their scarf.

An unusual event occurred: Padre Alfonso Velarde from Mexico held two services for those who wanted to attend.

ATZ Fraternidad de Scouts y Guias Guatemala is to be commended for their exceptional hospitality and dedication in hosting this memorable event.
