World Committee meeting in Brussels, Belgium 2020 (Statement ISGF WCom/HostCom 29th WConf)
Dear friends,
As you may already know, COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by the coronavirus discovered in China a few months ago, and previously unknown. For the ISGF World Committee and for the Organizing Committee of the 29th World Conference MADRID 2020, the health and safety of each and every participant in the Conference is our top priority.
For this reason, on Saturday 14 March 2020, an online meeting was held during World Committee meeting in which it was agreed, among other things, to monitor the evolution of this pandemic over the coming weeks. At all times we will follow the recommendations and directions of the Government of Spain.
Taking into account that the World Conference is scheduled to take place in almost five (5) months, the host committee has planned a path that includes evaluation meetings on the following dates: April 4, May 2 and May 30. A new official statement will be included in Bulletin No. 5 that will be published on June 1st.
In the meantime, the host committee will continue working as before. All professionalism is dedicated to the more than 400 people already registered. Registrations are still open, and the payment terms are still in force. The host committee continue to send invitation letters to those who need them for obtaining visas and who have paid to participate in the event. Caution will be recommended for those who want to buy airline tickets.
