Grandparents Day Campaign in Uruguay

The Adult Scout and Guide Fellowship in Uruguay (FASGU) commemorated this Grandparents day by collecting pairs of used glasses.

National Grandparents Day is celebrated in some countries on various days.  In Uruguay on June 19th it is the day to honor elders.  The Fellowship collected 52 used eyeglasses and delivered them to COOPTICA, a cooperative of young opticians of Montevideo, who will repair and update them according to the users need.

The campaign will continue in the future as long as they receive used lenses, damaged or broken. FASGU will be able to help those who are in need and they thank their members and COOPTICA for allowing them to accompany them in this magnificent work.
