The ISGF held its 2016 World Committee Meeting in Cascais, Portugal from 18-21 March. The meeting was attended by seven (7) World Committee members as one was present by Skype due to sickness.
The Regional Chairmen from Africa, Arab, Asia Pacific and Europe were invited to attend the meeting and also the Secretary General, the Treasurer, the Central Branch Coordinator and the WOSM representative were there. A representation of WAGGGS could not attend unfortunately, due to a prior commitment.
The meeting topics included a discussion of the global outlook, the next World Conference as well as our latest thinking on the regions, with a particular focus on the creation of a new region, the Western Hemisphere.
The presence of Regional Chairmen during the World Committee meeting was very fruitful for all the members due to a great exchange of ideas and experiences.
The minutes of this meeting will be sent as usual to the National Presidents, International Secretaries, Regional Chairmen and contact persons of Central Branch groups and will be available in the closed section of the website which can only be entered via the supplied log-in details.
