World Conferences

The 26^th ISGF World Conference took place from 26 September till 2 October 2011 in Como. Italy. It was attended by 465 participants from 45 countries.

The Conference was hosted by MASCI, the Italian National Scout and Guide Fellowship. Apart from official sessions, participants had the opportunity to take part in workshops in order to create the new action plan for 2011-2014 as well as to relax during an excursion. The theme of the Conference was "Common Goods: Water, Earth and Air" and was accompanied by keynote speaker, Professor Simone Morandini.

The Conference welcomed two new Associate member countries Burkina Faso and Zambia.

Four members were elected to a six-year term on the ISGF World Committee out of ten candidates: Virginia BONASEGALE (Italy), Nana GENTIMI (Greece), Verna LOPEZ (Curacao), Mida RODRIGUES (Portugal).

Continuing their mandate on the ISGF World Committee for the next triennium are: Harald KESSELHEIM (Germany), Paul LOKOSSOU (Benin), Abdelaziz BENSAID (Morocco) and Muftah AJAJ (Libya)

The new Chairman of the World Committee is Mida Rodrigues and the two vice-chairmen are Abdelaziz and Nana.

Retiring ISGF World Committee members are: Linda BATES (Canada), Ales CERIN (Slovenia), Anne DUPONT (Belgium), Brett D. GRANT (Australia), Rigmor LAURIDSEN (Denmark) and Mario SICA (Italy).

Australia was chosen to host the 27th ISGF World Conference in 2014 in Sydney (19-24 September).
