Arab Environment Day, celebrated on October 14 each year, is a great opportunity to raise awareness and protect our environment. Each year Arab Environment Day has a slogan for creating awareness among individuals living in Arab countries. Arab Environment Ministers and officials met on this day with the aim of developing cooperation between Arab countries. Specifically, Arab officials sought to promote cooperation in environmental issues and find solutions to create a more sustainable world.
International Literacy Day is an international observance, celebrated each year on 8 September, that was declared by UNESCO on 26 October 1966 at the 14th session of UNESCO's General Conference. It was celebrated for the first time in 1967. It is observed across the globe to promote and support the development of literacy and skills, universal access to quality education, and learning opportunities throughout people’s lives.
Through video call ZOOM the ISGF Arab Region celebrated the World Humanitarian Day on 19 August 2020. World Humanitarian Day is an international day dedicated to recognizing humanitarian personnel and those who have lost their lives working for humanitarian causes.
The ISGF Arab Region recently hosted a cultural evening. The subject was “Sinai, the land of he who spoke to Allah, Musa” via ZOOM online platform and Facebook. The Egyptian Ministry of Environment, the Faculty of Archeology of the University of Cairo, the South Sinai Governorate, and a Scouting station were involved. Several professors and specialists from the mentioned parties spoke that evening.
The Austrian Scout and Guide Fellowship, Pfadfinder-Gilde Österreichs (PGO), revived an action under the name “AKTION 100” for Scouts in need.
Due to the Covid pandemic, NSGF UK Joint National Committee (JNC) was unable to hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM), as planned, in Malvern on 3rd June 2020. With no end to the pandemic and its restrictions in sight, it was decided that they should hold the meeting online via a Zoom link.
Under the name “The Missing Piece in Family Life” the ISGF Arab Region organized another online lecture. On July 23, 2020, the Psychological and Family Guidance Association in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, was hosting the evening.
On 14 July 2020 Mr. Fathi Farghali, chairman ISGF Arab Region opened the online cultural activities evening organized by the Community Service committee in cooperation with NSGF Lebanon.
On 5 June 2020, the community service and development committee of the Arab Union of Pioneer Scouts & Guides celebrated World Environment Day.
Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic NSGF Indonesia had recently their video call during the Jakarta Provincial Scout Meeting.
