The 6th Gathering of the sub-region South America, “CAVIAHUE 2015” , was hosted by NSGF Argentina, Scouts y Guías Adultos de Argentina (SGAA) from October 10 – 12, 2015. In a Franciscan convent, 26 participants from Argentina, Curacao, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Uruguay attended this meeting in Agua de Oro, Cordoba, Argentina. Due to unforeseen circumstances the delegation of Chile could not attend at the last moment.

The highlight of the Gathering was the signing by Argentina and Uruguay of a constitution project, in order to finalize the set-up of the sub-region South America. After the signature of Chile, the committee will continue with the finalization of the constitution before sending it to the ISGF legal team.
At the opening ceremony Omar Coppa, National President of SGAA, officially received the ISGF certificate as acceptance as Associate member from Verna Lopez, World Committee member in charge of the Western Hemisphere Region.
The convent: ”La Casa de la santisima Trinidad de las Hermanas terciarias de las Misioneras Franciscanas”, was a very nice and quiet place. It was surrounded with a green afforestation and a slow moving river in the back of the “retirement house”. Breakfast and lunch were served by the nuns and in the evening we were pampered by the local fellowship. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable with outside bath- and restrooms. No luxury but a pleasant environment. The weather was okay, except for the very low temperature for this time of the year as it supposed to be spring. We had to keep our jackets on, also during the meetings.
On Sunday, October 11, 2015 we had a day excursion with a very nice lunch stop at restaurant “La Casa de Ana”. The tour took us to churches, museums, tourist centre, winery “Bodega La Caroyense” and the famous “Caroya salami factory”. The day was closed with a funny campfire without fire, inside the activity room, due to the very low temperature outside.
The program was very relaxed, but the main points as mentioned above were met. Special thanks to the organizing committee presided by Myrian Coppa Vanzetti (member of the South America sub-regional committee) and Omar Coppa, National President of SGAA.
Now, we are looking forward to the 5th Gathering of the sub-region South America, which will be hosted by Fraternidad de Antiguos Scouts y Guías del Uruguay (FASGU) in 2018 in Uruguay.
