It was an unexpected and wonderful opportunity to participate in the 7th Europe Region Workshop that took place in Smolenice, Slovakia (3 - 8 March 2017). I am still not sure how I got the chance to go on this adventure. A lot of credit has to go to my Fellowship contact in Ireland, Margery, who was very good about explaining as much as she could to me and being very persuasive.
The Committee of the Europe Region will organize the 7th workshop in the town of Smolenice, Slovakia from 3 - 8 March 2017.

New Ways to Promote Membership: “How to communicate with younger Guides and Scouts”
This 9th Conference took place in congress centre VINCI in Tours, France, from 11 to 15 September 2016.
Tours is the main town of Touraine; it is located in the Loire Valley, which, with its castles, its landscapes and its vineyard, was listed by UNESCO as World Heritage of Humanity.
The Organizing Committee of the 9th ISGF Europe Conference is ready and waiting for us. In less than 15 weeks’ time, about 150 ISGF members from 22 European countries some from 3 countries outside Europe will be arriving in Tours, France to participate in the Europe Conference (11 - 15 September 2016).

The Europe Conference will be held September 11 – 15, 2016 in Tours, France. The Europe Regional Committee together with the Host Committee made an attractive program with a panel discussion, important information and a choice of excursions.

Where: The 9th European Conference will take place in Tours, France. Today, Tours with its extensive rail (including TGV) and autoroute links to the rest of the country. Tours is a jumping-off point for tourist visits to the Loire Valley and the royal castles.
Theme: Live together Scouting and Guiding, a school for Peace and citizenship
-within Val de Loire, historical centre of France, designated by UNESCO as part of the World Heritage.

The 8th Europe Conference took partly place in the conference centre of Stockholm, Sweden and also onboard the ferry Mariella sailing between Stockholm and Helsinki, Finland, September 4 -8 2013.
178 members from 21 countries were present and they had a great time.
