Between January 29 and February 1 of this year, the 4th CANASGAA was held in the town of Santa Catalina province of Córdoba, Argentina. With the assistance of 16 members of the different local Guilds of the country and the presence of the chairman of the Western Hemisphere Region Committee, Vanessa Hoogenbergen-Helmijr and her husband Billy.
The medieval church of St Mary in Bergen, Norway was filled to capacity on 4th December 2016 when guilds, scouts, the City Mission and the diocesan Dialogue Centre came «Together for Peace», with the Peace Light from Bethlehem as the focal point.
The Sri Lanka Scout and Guide Fellowship (SLSGF) celebrated its “Fellowship Day” on 2 November 2016. It was the first event after re-activating the National Fellowship. Fellowship Day was held at the National Headquarters of the Girl Guides Association, Colombo, Sri Lanka.
A campfire was held on 2 October 2016 at Girl Guide Headquarters in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Trefoil Guild Sri Lanka, which belongs to the Sri Lanka National Scout and Guide Fellowship, celebrated their 59th Birthday. They also commemorated Adults and Children’s day. Over 350 participants witnessed this great performance.
The India Scout and Guide Fellowship supported the National Jamboree of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, held from 29 December 2016 till 4 January 2017 in Mysore, Karnataka.
The National Scout and Guide Fellowship of Libya organized for their members a trip to Djerba from 10 – 15 November 2016. The NSGF Libya had made an annual plan in which they included this trip.
On October 8 and 9, NSGF Spain, Amistad Internacional Scout y Guía Adultos España, organized a national gathering in the city of Llerena situated in the province Badajoz in Southern Spain.
On 30th October 2016 a new chairman of the Scouts y Guias Adultos de Argentina (SGAA) was elected during the biennial meeting. Omar Coppa has been replaced by Nélida Leonor Gomèz. Omar, looks back.
Roihu 2016 was the name of the 7th International Finnjamboree organised by the Guides and Scouts of Finland. It was the largest youth project of the year in Finland. Roihu (=campfire) was the culmination of 17,000 scouts' summer camp in the forest at Evo, Southern Finland.
