The 15th World Scout Moot has been held in Iceland from 25th July to 2nd August 2017. It is an official event of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), hosted and organized by the Icelandic Boy and Girl Scout Association, for young people aged between 18 and 25 inclusive.
Anton Õunapuu (7 November 1887 – 2 April 1919) was the founder of the Boy Scouts in Estonia. He was buried on the Vändra Cemetry, 100 km from the capital of Talinn, on 9 April 1919. The Skautmaster gilde (Estonian Scout Masters), a new local Guild of young adults in the Estonia Fellowship organized on 29 April 2017 an excursion to the birthplace of the founder of the Estonian Scouting.
The National Council of the India Scout and Guide Fellowship was held on 15-16 April, 2017 in the Vivakananda Nagri, Khetri in the State of Rajasthan, India. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of National President Mr. Kalpesh S. Jhaveri. During the meeting a youth award ceremony took place, in which five youngsters of Bharat Scouts & Guides were felicitated.
About 30 Guild members from the Norwegian Fellowship participated in the “Nord2017”, the National Scout Jamboree for the Norwegian Scout and Guide Association. The event took place from 1 – 8 July in Bodø, north of Norway above the Arctic Circle. The Guild members were divided in several teams. One team supported food distribution while another team ran the Hotelt tent hotel for guests. Other teams were busy with the Stamp Bank or the Scout Museum exhibition.
The Central Antony Guild of Estonia Scouts and Guides visited the National Jamboree Wheel of Adventure that was held from 8 till 15 July 2017 in the Tagametsa Hunting Lodge and Camping Center (ca 120 km from Tallinn). The camp site was situated in an ancient forest and in the middle of it is a hunting lodge.
The National Scout and Guide Fellowship of Libya organized a trip on 25 March 2017. They went to the ancient city of Ghadames which is located in the South West of Libya.
On April 1, 2017, the General Assembly of the Spanish Fellowship met in Madrid. The President of the Spain Scouting Federation, Elias Py Rodríguez, attended the meeting.
At this meeting the new Federal Executive was elected, it was constituted of the following members:
April 29, 2017, some representatives of the Federation of Associations and Friends of French Scouting, the FAAS, National Scout and Guide Fellowship in France, participated in the ceremony celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Jamboree of Moisson, "the Jamboree of Peace.” This Jam took place 80 km from Paris, in August 1947, barely two years after the end of the Second World War.
The Baden Powell Guild of Great Britain, member of the UK Scout and Guide Fellowship, has just had their National Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Guide headquarters in Henfield West Sussex on Saturday 25th March 2017.
