The ISGF World Conference is an event where “Friendship” is lived by the delegates from most of the National Scout and Guide Fellowships (NSGFs). Como was the perfect spot to share experiences and make new friends.
Now, that all of us are back home on Fellowship Day, we can spread the message that Baden-Powell transmitted us – The Guide/Scout is a friend to all and a brother/sister to every other Guide/Scout.
Let’s get out of our meeting place and as adults contact our neighbor, our colleague at work, someone we do not know but is willing to speak with us. It is easy to ask people to be your friend through internet but it is difficult to ask directly.
Action is needed, so be different and improvise a small event, invite a person to go with you for a walk or a cup of coffee, knock at the door of a nursing home and smile to one of the patients. Share happiness.
Personal development is needed. Some people think that being an adult means that they have learned everything. Smile and share and you will learn and receive much more.
Some Local Scout and Guide Fellowships could even during this Fellowship Day collect some funds to help the NSGFs that cannot pay their fee.
This will be the beginning of a plan to share the happiness of being a member of ISGF.
