On this day in history in 1857, was born Robert Baden-Powell and this day in history in 1889 was born Olave Baden-Powell. Hence, the couple’s joint birthday, 22nd February, is commemorated as Founder’s Day by the Scouts and as World Thinking Day by the Girl Scouts / Girl Guides.
The National Scout and Guide Fellowship in Germany called Verband Deutscher Altpfadfindergilden e.V. (VDAPG) is one guild richer, the Noah’s Guild.
During a service held by the parish of Schaag /Nettetal, Germany in the church of St. Anna, "Noah's Guild" was ceremonially welcomed by Helmut Reitberger, the chairman of the VDAPG.
JamCam took place in Foz Do Iguaçu, Brazil. The event comprised the16th Interamerican Scout Jamboree and 3rd Interamerican Scout Camporee. It was held from 4 to 10 January 2020 with eight thousand participants from 21 countries. There were mascots Tuko (toucan), Guany (iguana) and Amber (fox), which represented South, Central and North America respectively. The city of Foz do Iguaçu is famous for being close to the border with Paraguay and Argentina, as well as it possesses natural attractions such as Iguazu Falls and the Bird’s Park. The theme was: “America: Continent of Diversity”
On 8 December 1984 the ISGF Arab Region has been created as the Arab Union of Scout and Guide Pioneers. All members of the Arab Region celebrate this day every year.
Some participants have asked the Portuguese delegation if it would be possible to make a pre-tour to Fatima, a Catholic pilgrimage site. The National Fellowship of Portugal, Federação de Escoteiros e Guias Adultos (FEGA) agreed to organize a pre-tour.
Robert Crause Baden-Powell, 3rd Baron Baden-Powell (15 October 1936 - 28 December 2019) the grandson of our Founder Robert Baden-Powell, 1st Baron Baden-Powell of Gilwell and Olave Baden-Powell sadly passed away peacefully at his home in the early hours of Saturday 28 December, 2019 after a long battle with cancer, aged 83.
"Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and Fellowship", was the theme at the General Assembly held in Mumbai on the 21st December 2019 of the Maharashtra State Indian Scout and Guide Fellowship (SGF).

The second Western Hemisphere Region Conference was held in New York, USA, from September 16 till 20, 2019. The activities took place in the world fair Marina near La Guardia Airport.
