Marguin_Curacao_honouredOn 27th April 2012 Mrs. Margaritha (Marguin) Salas-Valencia received the civilian order of merit as member of the order of Orange-Nassau from the Governor of Curaçao, in name of the Queen of the Netherlands.

France mourns a great man, Raymond Aubrac, who, had been one of the major members of Resistance during the Nazi occupation of France during WWII with his wife Lucie (who saved him from prison and death). Éclaireuses Éclaireurs de France (EEDF) and Anciens Éclaireuses Éclaireurs de France (AAEE, member of the French ISGF) are deeply affected by his death.

Logo_80_years_Guiding_GreeceThis year the National Guiding Association in Greece (SEO) celebrates its 80th anniversary. Guiding in Greece started in 1932 and became a member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) in 1933.

Saint George’s Day – 23rd April 2012 Print E-mail

St_George_2012On Saint George’s Day scouts, guides and Fellowship members remind themselves of their Promise and of the Scout/Guide Law.

Saint George was chosen by B-P, Chief Scout of the World, to be the association's patron. In the handbook "Scouting for Boys," Baden-Powell recounted that the Knights of the Round Table had adopted Saint George as their patron because he was the only one of all the saints who had been a horseman.

Third Camporee in Quilpué, Chile Print E-mail

logo_Forum_Chile_2012The Central Branch group of San Jorge Guild, Chile, will be the host for this Forum. They will be assisted by the local sea rangers, Union de Scout Marinos de Chile (USMC). It is the third time that there is such a gathering/camporee in South America. The first one was in Cordoba - Argentina, the second event took place in Piriapolis – Uruguay and now the third one in Quilpué, Chile. The Central Branch countries in this region want to establish a sub-region South America.

Millions of girls changed their lives, playing the game B-P left us, GUIDING, so we must continue to cherish and stimulate this movement, so many more Girls and Women can profit from it.
